Student Data Protection Statement

1. Local Storage Architecture
CampusPilot AI operates primarily as a client-side web application. All created subjects, study tasks, quiz scores, generated revision notes, and study timetables are saved locally inside your web browser using HTML5 LocalStorage. Your study notes are never transmitted to or saved on central server databases operated by CampusPilot AI.
2. AI Engine Processing Modes
By default, CampusPilot AI utilizes a Local Deterministic AI Engine that executes entirely within your browser environment. In this default mode, zero study material, text inputs, or prompts are sent over the internet to external AI model providers.
If you optionally configure a custom LLM API key (e.g. OpenAI or Gemini) in the Settings page, your browser will send prompts directly to the selected API endpoints under your credentials. CampusPilot AI does not store or proxy your API key on external backend servers.
3. University Affiliation Disclaimer
CampusPilot AI is an independent academic productivity software tool created to help engineering students prepare for examinations. CampusPilot AI is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Anna University, AKTU, SPPU, Mumbai University, JNTU, or any official examination board.
4. User Control & Data Clearing
You retain complete control over your study data. You may clear all stored subjects, notes, and preferences at any time by clicking "Reset All Data to Defaults" in the Settings page or by clearing your browser site data.
